The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about medication not on repeat, please call the surgery on 02920 797751

Annual Medication Reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we will invite you for a medication review. We will contact you when your review is due.

What to do with old medicines

Medication no longer needed should be taken back to the pharmacy you collected it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

Benzodiazepine prescriptions for Flying and Dental Procedures

Benzodiazepines are drugs that can help relieve the anxiety some patients may experience prior to having a dental procedure or flying.

Dental Procedures

Dentists should not be directing patients to their GP to request Benzodiazepine medicine as we are unable to assist with this.

If a dentist wishes to prescribe such medicine for anxious patients, then that dentist should be responsible for issuing the prescription.

Dentists may contact our GP for information or advice, if, for example the patient has a complex medical history

Flying

Flight anxiety does not come under the remit of General Medical Services as defined in the GP contract and therefore, we are not obliged to prescribe for this.

Patients who wish to take Benzodiazepines for flight anxiety should consult with a private GP or travel clinic.
