Disabled access and Information Standards

Our practice has suitable access for disabled patients, disabled parking spaces are available as well as a lift for patients to have access to the upper floors. Wheelchairs are available on request.

Hearing Difficulties

If you are experiencing hearing difficulties when being called in to see the doctor or nurse, please do let us know in order for us to set up an alert on your medical records and personally collect you from the waiting room. Alternatively, we do have the facility of a portable induction loop. If you would like to use this, please ask at reception for assistance.

Accessible Information

The Accessible Information Standard is mandatory for all organisations that provide NHS or adult social care, including NHS trusts and GP practices.

The standard ensures patients with a disability or sensory loss can access and understand information by;

 - Asking patients if they have any information or communication needs and agree how to meet these needs 

 - Record these needs clearly on the patients records

 - Ensure patients recieve information they can access and understand and receive communication support if required

Patients to whom the standards may apply

 - Patients who have information or communication needs relating to a disability impairment or sensory loss

 - Parents and carers of those patients where appropriate

 - Patients who are deaf or blind

 - Patients with a learning disability
